The FUSE-project will support an efficient and smart charging infrastructure for the municipality of Frederiksberg

The transition to a mass market for electromobility requires a significant investment in charging infrastructure. Establishing infrastructure in urban environments represent a special challenge due to parking conditions, establishing costs and the heterogeneous demand from inhabitants and guests.

The goal of the FUSE-project is to inform and accelerate investments in urban charging infrastructure by providing solutions and advice aimed at municipalities and grid operators for an efficient and smart charging infrastructure.

To this end, FUSE will (1) investigate the future demand and supply of charging infrastructure and the implications to the power system through a combined traffic and grid model (GAIA) (2) experimentally validate the charging infrastructure’s ability to provide flexibility to the power system through a number of field demonstrations.
